Of Sea And Stone

Of Sea and Stone

Of Sea and Stone is a Folk-Pop duo formed around the vocals of Luke and Morgan Dierker. The pair met unexpectedly in January of 2014. When you hear their voices together, it’s hard to argue that they weren’t intrinsically drawn to one another. After matching on Tinder, they came together to collaborate on a cover of Poison and Wine by The Civil Wars. Their chemistry and strong harmonies were immediately apparent. Within a few weeks, Luke and Morgan began to write and perform under the name A Simple Exchange. The two played shows extensively in Missouri, opening for acts such as Judah and the Lion, The Harmed Brothers, and Pageant. In 2016, Luke and Morgan released their first full length album under the name A Simple Exchange with Catherine Sandstedt on viola and Daniel Blake on drums. A few months later, Dierker and Manson were married, and the duo moved to Austin, TX where they currently reside. In December 2016, the two changed their name to Of Sea and Stone to better reflect the sound of their music and the nature of their relationship. They are opposites in many ways, yet they share an inherent link. Much like they’re namesake, they’re always crashing into one another. Their latest project, was recorded with producer Billy Smiley in Nashville, TN. Fittingly, this project was mixed by Richie Biggs, sound engineer for The Civil Wars.
